Lord Tsunenaga Masaoka was the last lord and protector of
the Takatori Castle.
Lord Tsunenaga Masaoka and his wife left these words for
future generations, having committed suicide at the fall of
their castle in 1585, and these words were later recorded in
the Temple Kichijyouji.
Lord Tsunenaga Masaoka makes the oath:
I vow to protect and keep my country safe and stable
and in peace, and to keep away natural disasters, and to
keep the people and livestock free from diseases.
His wife, Lady Tsunenaga Masaoka’s soul, after she has
I vow to forever protect pregnant women, that they will
have safe deliveries of their babies. For young boys, I
give virtue and wisdom, and to the girls, I bestow a
